Les processeurs Q-SYS « hardware » QSC tournent sous un Linux modifié, sur processeur Intel. La marque prend un tournant technologique en abandonnant ses plateformes propriétaires : le logiciel animant les Q-SYS peut désormais tourner sur un serveur PC Dell. L’idée est de ne plus faire peur aux responsables informatiques, toujours soupçonneux lorsqu’il s’agit d’intégrer à leur réseau une plateforme qu’ils ne connaissent pas.
Désormais, les utilisateurs de Q-SYS retrouvent toutes les fonctionnalités des processeurs de la marque sous forme virtuelle, tournant sur un serveur parfaitement maîtrisé par les responsables informatiques. De quoi accélérer encore la convergence audio/vidéo et réseau d’entreprise. ■
